Our History

Roger Pope opened his own practice on New Cavendish Street in 1987, dispensing prescriptions from the leading Harley Street Ophthalmologists. Roger was later joined in partnership by Stephen Hopkinson who was tasked with opening a new practice In Dulwich Village in 1996.

Over the years the business has gone from strength to strength and in 2013, Dulwich benefitted from a major refit whilst retaining many of the original antique shopfittings which gives the store such individual character.

In 1987, the New Cavendish Street Practice was awarded the Royal Warrant of Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen in 2006 and HRH The Prince of Wales in January 2014.

In 2020, we moved from Dulwich Village to more spacious premises in West Dulwich and continued to provide eyecare throughout the pandemic.
